Parenting, work, and life in Finland — the unfiltered edition.

Hey there! I’m Lucia. I grew up in Italy, somehow ended up in FinlandLucia Vuillermin

(follow this blog if you want to know more), and now I’m a working mum of three trying to keep life together without my family anywhere nearby. Spoiler: it’s not always Instagram-perfect, this is why I recently closed my account.

This blog is where you’ll get the real version of life in the Nordics. Sure, there’s the good stuff — clean air, paying taxes, people who respect your personal space — but also the not-so-good stuff: the endless winters, the job market headaches, and the occasional “what just happened?” cultural clash.

I’ll be talking about what it’s like being part of the international community here, navigating work opportunities (topic close to my ♥️, and, honestly, just surviving the daily chaos of raising three kids in a country where it’s dark for half the year. There will be rants. There will be love letters to summer. And there will be moments where you think, “Yep, I’ve been there.”

So if you want the shiny tourist-brochure version of the Nordics, Google it. If you want the behind-the-scenes, coffee-stained, slightly sleep-deprived version — welcome. You’re in the right place.
